Earthquake Tips From DJ Hewitt Builders Ltd

I hope this finds you all safe.
 
Just some things to do.
 
  • Go around your home and take photo's if you have any damage. Close ups with a ruler to show scale.
  • Also general photo's and write a list of when and what.
 
  • Don't call your insurance company but contact EQC on 0800 326 243 or go to their web site and lodge a claim with them.
 
  • You do have 3 months to make a claim but best to get in early.

 
  • Also check your water tanks as these may have moved.

  • If you have a concrete roof this is high risk for movement.
 
If you have small gib cracks this is to be expected and I would wait until things stop before they are fixed.
